The first trip to Sri Lanka was not enough. I fell in love with this country that I had to visit it again!! This time to explore as many beaches as I can. I travelled this time with my travel buddies packbackers.
Airport art at Chattrapati Shivaji airport of Mumbai
We chose to take long flight that passes through Chattrapati Shivaji airport of Mumbai to save expenses. I was impressed by this airport to be honest. It's so spacious and convenient.
Heading Negombo. It's a rainy day!
Once we arrived in Sri Lanka, we headed to Negombo It's just around the corner. I stayed at a nice guest house few steps away from the beach. It was fantastic waking up and just heading to the beach nearby. Negombo, one of the closest beachside getaways from Colombo.
Next destination was Galle Fort. A Unesco World Heritage Site, this historic city is a delight to explore on foot, an endlessly exotic old trading port blessed with imposing Dutch-colonial buildings, ancient mosques and churches, grand mansions and museums. Galle's core is the Fort. Most travellers are utterly seduced by Galle's ambience. Galle is a jewel!
The next destination was the lovely Mirissa!! it's a small beach town with all the attractions mostly concentrated in one point. If you’re a walker, then you won’t mind walking around to the attractions.
Mirissa is fabulous beach city with loads of things to do in such as Wale watching tours. Mirissa is known for its marine life, it becomes the best spot in the world to whale watch!
The beach in Mirissa offers the peace you can't find elsewhere, the hotels provide the customers with everything that they require; even with many people occupying the beach, the noise and rush is minimum.
Don't miss out on the Suicide Burger! The Hangover Cafe in Mirissa is adjoining the vibrant Hangover Hostel, and has proved popular with both tourists and locals. They've got a prime location just across the road from the beach, The Hangover Cafe serves up exactly what you'd want to shove your face into after a long day at the beach.
You can have the best of both worlds at Mirissa by dipping your toes in the beautiful beach waters in daylight & killing it with your clubbing game in the evening. the Mirissa night life will not disappoint you at all.
I've visited the most beautiful beaches in Srilanka icluding Unwantuna, Hikkaduwa, Wekigama, Arugam Bay and others. Golden yellow beaches backed by infinite palm trees, a wide selection of hotels, guesthouses and surf camps.
